Mundelein Police searching for bank robber
Police are asking for the public’s help for more information about a Wednesday morning bank robbery in Mundelein.
A man entered the U.S. Bank at 2000 South Lake St. shortly after 11 a.m. and presented the teller with a note demanding money from the cash drawer, according to a release from the Mundelein Police Department.
The man said he had a weapon, but did not show it, police said. The male suspect is described as white, between the ages of 30 and 35. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. He was seen heading south through an adjacent business parking lot. No one was injured.
The man was wearing a knit cap with a gray coat and faded blue jeans. He is described as being approximately 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a slender build.
Police contacted the FBI, and a joint investigation is ongoing.
