Wildwood woman pleads guilty in fatal Waukegan accident

By Lee Filas

A Wildwood woman will spend 30 months in periodic imprisonment after pleading guilty to aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in Lake County court.

Kristin Miller, 41, of the 52000 block of John Mogg Road, will also spend four years on probation for being intoxicated while driving when she struck a car driven by Freddie Adams-Dotson, 48, of the 3000 block of Norma Lane.

Adams-Dotson was killed in the December 2010 crash.

Under the terms of the Dec. 4 plea, Miller will be released from jail only for work and treatment, and she is not allowed to have any contact with the family of the victim, authorities said.

She is also required to make a $100 donation in the victim's name every anniversary of the crash to the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists, Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Scott Turk said.

Miller was charged after hitting Adam-Dotson's Chevy Cavalier in the 200 block of North Green Bay Road in Waukegan.

Miller was taken to Vista East where blood was drawn and tested. She was later charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated DUI causing a death, authorities said.
