The Nov. 27 article on premature birth was interesting, but it left out important information. Studies done in Finland and Scotland covering the period of 1981 to 2008 found that abortion significantly increases the risk of preterm babies in future pregnancies. The Finnish study covered nearly 301,000 women, while the Scottish study covered about 600,000 women.
Young women should be aware of the risk of aborting their first pregnancy, not only to themselves, but to their future children.
