A Fox Lake man is free on bond after being arrested with more than 300 Ecstasy pills, authorities said.
Christopher Walker, 36, of the 0 to 100 block of Maude Avenue, has been charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance following a Nov. 30 traffic stop in Lake Zurich, said Lake County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sara Balmes.
Special investigators stopped Walker’s vehicle at approximately 7:15 p.m. for violating several traffic laws near Route 12 and North Quentin Road, Balmes said. Walker’s actions were highly suspicious during the traffic stop, she said, so detectives requested a K9 from a neighboring police department to investigate the vehicle.
Prior to the K9’s arrival, Balmes said, Walker told detectives he had 342 ecstasy pills inside the vehicle. Following a search, $273 in cash was confiscated by police, along with a 2005 GMC Sierra, Balmes said.
Walker appeared in Lake County bond court Thursday, where his bond was set at $100,000. Balmes said he was released from custody after posting 10 percent of the required bond.
Walker is due to appear in court on Dec. 12 at 9 a.m.
