ISU hopes to have new president by next fall

By

NORMAL — The chairman of Illinois State University’s board of trustees says his goal is to have a new ISU president on the job by next fall.

Current ISU President Al Bowman announced his retirement Monday.

Board Chairman Michael McCuskey tells The Pantagraph that trustees are likely to hold a special meeting on Dec. 15 to launch their search for Bowman’s successor.

McCuskey says they’ll hire a search firm and the process should be in full swing by late January or early February.

Trustee Betty Kinser says finding Bowman’s replacement is “going to take a lot of work and conscientious searching.”
