Donations for hurricane victims

MBX Systems, 1200 Technology Way, Libertyville, is accepting donations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 12 for two charities to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Supplies being sought include rakes, shovels, brooms, work gloves, batteries, hats, gloves, socks, contractor grade refuse bags, N95 face masks, fire extinguishers, toiletries and miscellaneous items such a batteries, can openers, diapers, wipes, baby food and formula and disposable cameras with flash. The collected items are being stored in a semitrailer that can hold 26 pallets of goods and will leave on Dec. 13. Donations benefit Catholic Charities Community Services, Staten Island and Gerristen Beach Cares, Brooklyn. Tax deductible donations made to the charities will be collected and forwarded.
