McHenry County Police arrested a man traveling with 75 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $290,000.

Police stopped a 2011 Mercedes Sprinter van driven by Michael P. Karavastev, 38, of Sunnyvale, Calif., Monday at the intersection of Route 31 and Route 14 in Crystal Lake. A McHenry County K-9 dog indicated the presence of drugs. Police searched the vehicle and found eight shipment boxes containing packages of cannabis.

Karavastev was arrested and charged with cannabis trafficking, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of cannabis.
