Takers won the election

The Nation of Takers has won. This is the first election where the voters who had no stake in the game have elected the one who was giving them stuff, paid for by those who did not vote for him. I read the Facebook messages from the takers, and it is obvious they are clueless about how monetary value is created.

One post, acted as if the government "just has money," not realizing that the money the government "just has," is not created by the only thing that creates real money and that is work.

Our national media blinded the masses. They glossed over the 107 million who are getting some form of welfare, didn't mention that 45 million are receiving Social Security checks, Medicare or Medicaid and another 20 million work for a bloated government, doing jobs that -- if they weren't done -- would make us better off.

We are about to go over a financial cliff and it is not just the one where the Congress has failed to agree with the spenders, on how much they can legally spend. We are in worse shape than Greece, if you figure our indebtedness on a per capita basis.

The spender/takers call themselves different things from age to age. In the early 1900s they called themselves Marxists. Next they were Socialists. Next they were liberals and now they are calling themselves progressives. They simple change names every time too many people catch on that they simply want stuff given to them.

Winston Churchill described them this way. It is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. God help us.

Perhaps we will have a retired or active duty general who will act as our Augusto Pinochet, against our Allende.
