New judge promises integrity, fairness

I recently was elected by the voters of Kane County as a circuit court judge. To be honest, it took about a week for it to fully sink in. That time has allowed me to fully grasp the enormity of the trust and confidence the voters placed in me, and it is humbling indeed.

Serving a community I love as judge is a great honor and a great responsibility. I will work for the rest of my working years to justify and fulfill that trust and confidence. I hereby dedicate myself to doing absolutely everything in my power to be the best possible judge I can be. I pledge to remain fair and impartial, to follow the law, and to treat every single person who appears before me with dignity and respect.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the countless people who worked tirelessly to get me elected: the voters, of course, and the committee members, volunteers, endorsers, donors, folks who hosted a car magnet or a yard sign, mailed friend-to-friend cards, phone banked, marched in parades, canvassed door-to-door, or did all the other things necessary for a successful campaign. Thank you!

When I begin my service on Dec. 3 by raising my right hand and swearing my oath, my duty to the people of my community will be on my mind, that day, and every day that follows.
