Voters who have supported Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. for 17 years are now saying they agree with his decision to resign.
Jackson announced Wednesday that he is leaving office, citing health problems and an ongoing federal investigation.
Gloria Pryor has lived in the 2nd Congressional district for most her life. She voted for Jackson several times, but says if allegations about Jackson are true he should leave office and apologize.
Rodney Butler says Jackson hasn’t handled his leave of absence well. The 62-year-old retiree described the congressman’s approach as “hush-hush” and said it made Jackson seem like he did something wrong. At the Chicago office Jackson shares with his wife, Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson, lights were on Wednesday but doors were locked and no one was seen inside.Copyright © 2013 Paddock Publications, Inc.
