Submitted by Cottages in the Woods

Author Earl Hanson, a longtime Geneva resident, will debut his new short story, “A Midsummer Adventure,” during the “Cottages in the Woods” Scandinavian Holiday Craft Sale and Cottage Walk from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at Good Templar Park, 628 Eastside Drive, Geneva. This pictorial short story is a good example of historical fiction and time travel and highlights many Geneva landmarks, Scandinavian heritage and traditions. Hanson, a graduate of the University of Chicago, is the founder of the Northern Illinois University Children’s Literature Conference and former chairman of Elementary Education at Northern Illinois University. He is also the author of the book, “A Place for Midsummer: The Scandinavian Tradition of Good Templar Park.”
