A Chicago man faces multiple charges after Des Plaines police found marijuana and a handgun in his car during a traffic stop, police reports said.

Bunheang Hang, 23, of the 5600 block of North Luna Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Nov. 8 on the 800 block of East Touhy Avenue and charged with felonies: defacing the identification of a firearm, criminal damage to government supported property, and delivery of marijuana, and misdemeanor charges: unlawful use of a weapon, no firearm owners ID card, possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

According to reports, an officer stopped Hang for driving south in the northbound lanes at Wolf Road and found 10 small bags of marijuana and a handgun with the ID scratched off.

Reports said Hang became aggressive toward the officers and was placed in a holding cell where he ripped apart the mattress, urinated on the floor and walls, pounded on the cell bars and walls, and put a large amount of toilet paper in the cell toilet, causing minor flooding.

Cost to decontaminate the cell was estimated at $155; damage to the mattress was estimated between $100 and $200.
