Accept reality and move on

text size: AAA

There is no doubt in my mind that The Daily Herald is a Republican newspaper.

You made that clear when you supported Romney and now you are clearly upset over the election results that the people of Illinois made clear with their voices on Tuesday.

I, for one, vote for the individual, regardless of their affiliation. I do not believe in our two-party system. I think all party affiliations should be done away with.

It's been more often than not that the parties cannot work together. The great leaders of our country feared that the creation of these political parties would cause problems (thanks a lot, Hamilton and Jefferson!) and it is obvious over and over again that it has.

As for the ousted two-decade Republican legislator you spoke of in your Nov. 8 editorial, well, it must have been time. The people wanted change and they got it.

So quit whining over the results and move forward.
