Wolves prepare to feed fans at fundraiser

By

The Chicago Wolves host their 15th “Get Fed by the Wolves” fundraiser from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Bahama Breeze, 406 E. Golf Road, in Schaumburg.

Wolves players will trade in their skates for aprons as they become waiters for their fans. A limited number of seats are available and can be reserved for a $55 donation by calling 1-800-THE-WOLVES. Proceeds benefit Chicago Wolves Charities.

“It’s great to see the guys who may seem super-intimidating on the ice, but they’re teddy bears and the nicest guys in the world off the ice,” said Courtney Mahoney, the team’s senior vice president of operations. “It’s a blast at Bahama Breeze. We have a lot of open space. The players go around and mix and mingle with fans. This is the best event to give insights into the guys’ personalities.”

After the Wolves serve lunch, there will be game-worn jerseys, team merchandise and other items available via raffle. The silent auction features several prizes, including the chance to enjoy lunch with forwards Zack Kassian and Steve Pinizzotto. In addition, each player’s autographed “Get Fed by the Wolves” T-shirt will be available during the spirited live-auction bidding that concludes the event.
