Emanuel welcomes new Turkish business center

A new business center has opened in Chicago to promote trade, joint projects and other forms of cooperation between U.S. and Turkish companies.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office announced the new center Saturday. It was opened in the past week by a Turkish governmental authority known as KOSGEB, which fosters international ties for small- and medium-sized companies based in Turkey.

Turkey is a major producer of telecommunications equipment, energy, machinery and textiles.

Emanuel says these types of partnerships “will lead to more high quality jobs” for Chicagoans.
