About this Article

When the votes in the 10th Congressional District were counted, Brad Schneider had eked out a victory with a slim 2,547-vote margin over incumbent Bob Dold, unofficial results showed. That's less than 1 percent of the total votes cast in the race. It's the first time a Democrat has won the 10th District seat since the 1970s. Early-voting, a remapped district and negative ads were factors, officials said.
