Dorothy Hamill to skate in Rosemont
More than three decades after capturing hearts and Olympic gold, skating star Dorothy Hamill will return to the ice as part of the 2012-13 Stars on Ice Tour, which includes a stop in Rosemont.
The tour comes to the Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Road, on March 8, 2013. Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.
The 56-year-old Hamill, winner of the 1976 figure skating gold medal, will be joined by Olympic medalists Ekaterina Gordeeva, Ilia Kulik and Joannie Rochette, U.S. Champion Ryan Bradley, British Dance Champions Sinead and John Kerr and Canadian Silver Medalist Shawn Sawyer. The show is also significant as it will be Kurt Browning’s final U.S. tour.
