Madigan’s influence on state rep race

Madigan’s influence on state rep race

I have read the campaign fliers being mailed to the voters in the 84th State Representative District concerning Pat Fee’s positions on families, Social Security, prescriptions, health hazards, guns and tax cuts for the “rich and famous.” None of these accusations could be further from the truth.

Pat Fee will be a caring leader for families and the elderly as she has personal experience with her own family and elderly parents. She knows the value of certain government programs. A state rep, has absolutely no control over Social Security or Medicare. These “hit pieces” have come from none other than Michael Madigan, who is determined to keep his leadership role in the Illinois House of Representatives.

As of Oct. 26, Mr. Madigan has donated to Stephanie Kifowit’s campaign $851,000 to attack Pat Fee. His only reason for this is to maintain control of the Illinois House. As an Aurora Alderman, Stephanie Kifowit has a voting record of raising taxes numerous times with the biggest tax increase still to come to the 84th District if Madigan maintains control. As House Majority Leader, his objective is to defer the state’s obligation for teachers’ pensions to the individual districts in which they taught.

If this happens, it is forecasted that property taxes will raise an estimated 12 to 15 percent. My experience has told me that whenever government gives you a range on tax increase numbers, always plan on the higher number as it’s probably understated.

Informed voters in this environment would not only cast their vote for Pat Fee but also cast their vote for any other Republican running for state rep in the five collar counties to force Madigan and the state to pay for their pension obligations in the future.
