Nominations open for Heart of Gold awards

By

Nominations are now open for the Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold awards. The program, sponsored by the village’s Special Events Commission, recognizes people who live or work in the village and whose contributions have positively affected the lives of others.

If you know of an “unsung hero” who has made a difference in your life or the lives of others, consider nominating them for a Heart of Gold award for appreciation of all the great work they have done. Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.

A nomination form can be filled out online. A description of award categories is included with the nomination form. If you would like to print a nomination form, one can be downloaded.

Hearts of Gold Award categories include: Mentor, Beautification/Environmental, Best Neighbor, Educator, Young at Heart, Young Champion, Volunteer, Community Spirit, Pam Stocking Heart of Gold, Business Leadership, and Heroic.

The Hearts of Gold Awards will be presented Feb. 9, 2013 at European Crystal, 519 W. Algonquin Road. For more information on attending the event or receiving a nomination form, email nkluz@vah.com or call (847) 368-5104.
