Nominations are now open for the Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold awards. The program, sponsored by the village's Special Events Commission, recognizes people who live or work in the village and whose contributions have positively affected the lives of others.

If you know of an "unsung hero" who has made a difference in your life or the lives of others, consider nominating them for a Heart of Gold award for appreciation of all the great work they have done. Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.
