While most of us do not have frequent contact with the state's attorney's office, we know it to be the crucial cog in the wheel of justice in Lake County.

The high false conviction rate, for which the office is famous, is not only horrendous for the imprisoned victims but the real criminals are still out in the community making us less safe.

Chris Kennedy is the candidate who can turn this office around. I have met Chris on several occasions and heard him speak in detail about his plans to bring this office into the 21st century. He has been an assistant state's attorney, has practiced law for many years and has put a lot of bad guys in jail.

He is super bright, dynamic and sure of himself. He knows what he wants to do and exactly how he's going to do it. He is so forceful and so positive -- that he leaves no doubt that he will be an effective state's attorney.

The kidnapping and murder of his cousin's daughter some years ago makes justice personal for him. Chris Kennedy will be fair and relentless in his pursuit of lawbreakers, and will be sure that this office has the most modern tools that science has to offer in the quest for honest convictions.

Lake County is lucky to have an outstanding candidate like Chris Kennedy vying for this office. We need him to clean house in Waukegan.
