GLMV Women's Group Fall Fashion Show Luncheon Highlights Local Businesses

More than 125 guests enjoyed the festivities, which featured wine and chocolate tastings, hors d'oeuvres, luncheon, fashion show, raffle prizes, and plenty of networking opportunities with other local business people.

Models hitting the runway were Lisa Nelson, Turnkey IT; Jubine Ninan and Carlita Pickett, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries; Nancy Shipley, Vernon Hills High School; Kathy Steffans, Pampered Chef, and Lyndsey Winter, Southern Exposure & Tan.

Providing fashions were Bella Donna Boutique, Dressbarn and Maurice's, with accessories from Lexi-Wynn Designs, Pandora and Rolland's Jewelers. Mario Tricoci of Vernon Hills provided hair, makeup and nails. Southern Exposure & Tan provided tanning services.

The wine tasting, sponsored by Caf̩ Pyrenees was a huge hit, along with the chocolate sampling provided by Dove Chocolates. Other local business sponsors included Simply Charmed, Mariano's Fresh Market, Music Now DJ Group, Lake County Journal, Joseph's Floral and American Chartered Bank РMundelein. Randi Moxi, Moxi Presents, was MC/Announcer.

Raffle proceeds went to a good cause, benefitting GLMV Dollars For Scholars, which provides scholarships for students in Libertyville, Mundelein & Vernon Hills High Schools; and Lambs Farm, a non-profit organization serving people with disabilities. Gift bags with items and offers from many local businesses were given out.

Attendees at the event included GLMV Vice Chair Dr. Jordan Leasure, North Shore Pro-Active Health; Secretary Donna Bikus, Aflac; Treasurer Sue Witz, BIK & Co., and Directors Florene Darr, Century 21 Marketplace and Paula Dudley, Shaw Suburban Media, and GLMV Platinum Members from Express Employment Professionals and The Daily Herald.

“What a wonderful event,” noted Joline Paulson, a new Chamber member who also donated a raffle prize. “I met so many new people, and really enjoyed the show.”

“We are so thrilled to once again attend the Fashion Show,“ noted Marian Rodriguez, representing Carstar, an active member of the GLMV Women's Networking Group.

Fashion Show Committee members Jackie Flick, American Chartered Bank—Mundelein; Ruth Quijada, BankFinancial—Libertyville; Sara Velander, Country Financial; Mary Sucherman, Fifth Third Bank—VH; Stephanie Barrons, Lake County Magazine; Alese Campbell, GLMV Chamber of Commerce; Carol Levin, GLMV Chamber of Commerce, helped make the event a huge success.
