QB Vandenberg to start against Northwestern

Last season Iowa quarterback James Vandenberg led the Hawkeyes to a 41-31 win over Northwestern in Iowa City. Vandenberg, who has struggled and thrown only 3 TD passes this season, will start against the Wildcats this Saturday in Evanston.

Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz reiterated on Tuesday that Vandenberg is his starter for Saturday's 11 a.m. game (ESPN2) at Northwestern (6-2, 2-2 Big Ten).
