Congressman Jackson gets visit from Davis, Rush

Two Illinois congressmen have visited Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., who’s been on medical leave for months.

Democrats Danny Davis and Bobby Rush went to Jackson’s home in Washington Monday morning. Both reached out to the Chicago Democrat, who hasn’t returned to work after his release last month from Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic.

Jackson was treated for bipolar disorder and gastrointestinal issues.

Rush spokeswoman Renee Ferguson says the congressmen want to help Jackson communicate with constituents.

All three are members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Jackson’s office has released few details about his condition or treatment since he went on medical leave in June. That’s prompted criticism from his opponents and some voters.

Jackson’s first communication with voters since June was a robocall released over the weekend where he asked for patience.
