• An estimated $9,000 in jewelry and a laptop computer were stolen between 7:15 a.m. and 3:27 p.m. Oct. 16 from a residence on the 300 block of South Calhoun Street near Aurora, according to a sheriff's report.

• A resident of the 38W300 block of Monterey Drive near Batavia received an email at 7:56 p.m. Oct. 15 saying the resident needed to update credit card information with Comcast, according to a sheriff's report. The resident called Comcast and the company said it did not sent the email and that it was a possible scam.
