All year round, the Daily Herald copy desk keeps a plastic Halloween pumpkin filled with candy. We take turns supplying the treats.

The best days are when the pumpkin is full of Take 5, Kit Kats and Twix mini bars.

The worst are when the castoff Halloween candy filters in. Around the second week of November, we'll get all the Smarties, circus peanuts and candy corn that employees' kids won't eat.
