Grace Schofield had 7 kills and 2 blocks for Carmel (20-16, 2-7), while fellow outside hitter Caitlin Barry put down 4 kills and served an ace.

"Our outside hitters were great tonight with no errors between the two of them, but it wasn't enough to overtake one of the best teams in the state," Corsairs coach David Pazely said. "Our serve receive struggled at times, and we gave up so big runs because of it, which ended up costing us both games. We look forward to the chance to rebound against Lake Forest (Thursday) at home on senior night.
