Buy poinsettias early before holiday rush

The North Aurora Mothers Club is selling poinsettias until Tuesday, Nov. 6.

These plants will brighten up your home, office, church, or meeting space and they make a great gift as well. All plants are red and available in three different sizes: 4.5, 6 and 6.5 inches. The 4.5-inch plant has three to four blooms and sells for $8.50, the 6-inch plant has five to seven blooms and sells for $15.50 and the 6.5-inch plant has seven to nine blooms and sells for $25.50.

Orders can be placed online at www.namothersclub.org/fundraising.php or orders can be mailed with the order form found on the webpage to NAMC, P.O. Box 57, North Aurora, IL 60542. Checks should be made payable to North Aurora Mothers Club, but they must arrive at the P.O. Box by Tuesday, Nov. 6 to guarantee the order.

The poinsettias, which will be provided by Schaefer Greenhouses of Montgomery, will have pot covers and decorative sleeves for gift giving. The sale will benefit many local organizations such as the Messenger Public Library, Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, and Budda’s Brotherhood Foundation.

The plants will be available for pickup Friday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to noon at the North Aurora Fire Department garage behind Station 1 at the corner of Monroe and State Street, across from Harner’s Bakery.
