Many voters are misinformed

Governor Romney made his fortune looting and destroying companies, outsourcing jobs and dodging taxes. His record as Massachusetts governor was abysmal, especially with respect to job creation, ranking 47th nationally.

He recently expressed disdain for almost half of our nation’s citizens who do not pay federal income taxes e.g., the elderly on Social Security, the disabled (including many veterans) and the poor.

Representative Ryan voted “yes” to every unfunded and frivolous bill pushed by President George W. Bush, thus contributing more than $6 trillion to our national debt. He repeatedly lied in his speech at the Republican National Convention and wants to give an additional $5 trillion in tax cuts to the richest 1% and to gut Social Security and Medicare. Further, he has adamantly and repeatedly refused to divulge the specifics of his budget plan and most particularly which government budget items he would cut and why.

Candidates Romney and Ryan would not have a chance of winning in a functioning democracy with informed voters. If about half of this nation’s registered voters are prepared to vote for them, then obviously this nation is not a healthy democracy and many of its voters are misinformed.
