The Huntley Area Public Library’s Local Voices program continues in October with presentation about the deep history of sports trading cards from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Find out how trading cards grew from being used as small advertisements in products into a multimillion-dollar industry in this event with longtime collector and host of the Cardboard Connection Radio show, Doug Cataldo.
There will be a short question-and-answer period after the presentation, and some lucky participants will win trading card prizes. See items from Cataldo’s personal collection. Attendees are encouraged to bring any personal sports cards/memorabilia you’d like more information about. Registration is required. Call (847) 669-5386, ext. 21, to register.
