Visitors can get sneak peeks of Chicago sites

The Chicago Architecture Foundation is planning an event that will offer behind-the-scenes looks at some of the city’s most popular places that are normally open “by invitation only.”

Open House Chicago is this Saturday and Sunday and includes more than 150 sites throughout the city. Access to the free event is on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is the second year for the open house. Last year more than 85,000 people visited more than 130 sites in Chicago.

Open House Chicago includes sneak peeks at the Oriental Theatre, Tribune Tower and the South Shore Cultural Center. Some buildings included in this year’s event date back to the 1800s.
