Clean out your shoe collection and help others!

Schaumburg Park District’s early childhood department will collect used shoes for adults and children from Nov. 7 to 18. Shoes will be collected at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane; the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road; Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way; and Pat Shephard Center, 421 N. Springinsguth Road.

All shoes will be donated to WINGS – Women in Need Getting Stronger. The organization helps homeless and abused women and children. All shoes will be sold at a local resale shop and the proceeds will be used to fund services that meet the needs for shelter, education, guidance and support.

Those donating are encouraged to rubber band or tie shoes together.
