Fresco’s wine dinner
Learn about wine making and varietals of Marchesi di Grésy at a wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Fresco 21. Guests will sample Piedmont-based offerings, including Langhe Nebbiolo 2010, Martinenga Barbaresco 2007, Camp Gros Barbaresco 2004 and more. Paired food offerings include sauvignon butter poached lobster tail, braised veal tortelloni, braised Wagyu beef short rib and more. $70 per person, tax and gratuity not included. Il Poggiolo’s ‘Cure’
Think pink throughout October with The Cure cocktail at Il Poggiolo. It’s made of Grey Goose Cherry Noir flavored vodka, fresh white grapefruit juice, strawberries and basil simple syrup. Half of every $10 cocktail will go to the Lynn Sage Foundation.

Wool Street’s brews
Wool Street meets Wild Onion in a new craft brew venture that will offer six drafts on tap daily. Pints range between $5.50 and $6.95 with 25 percent off on Wednesdays. Or grab six, five-ounce samples for $8.95. Standard craft brews are Hop Slayer, Kainz Brau, Hefty Weiss and Paddy Pale Ale. The current seasonal beers are a spiced pumpkin ale and the Oktoberfest. Special craft brew educational events take place the last Wednesday each month.
