Two people were injured when a teenage driver crashed an SUV into a Glen Ellyn home Monday night, police said.
Police said a 17-year-old Glen Ellyn girl was driving north on Park Boulevard around 9 p.m. Monday. When she tried to turn left onto Pershing Avenue, she lost control of the car, left the road and struck a house at the northwest corner of the intersection, officials added.
Police said the teen and most of her passengers had fled the scene by the time they arrived, but two were found nearby shortly after.
No one was injured inside the home, but two SUV passengers were taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with injuries that were not serious, officials said.
The driver, who is not being identified because of her age, was cited with making an improper turn and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident; she also was arrested and charged with DUI. She was released on bond, police said.
