Man killed in Libertyville crash

A 71-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash early Thursday morning in Libertyville, Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey said.

Police were called at 5:12 a.m. to the 200 block of Golf Road on a report of a car striking a tree. The vehicle had rolled over, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Yancey said.

The man's identity was not released pending notification of relatives, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Yancey said.

"We don't know at this point if there was some type of medical situation," Yancey said.

Details of the accident were not available Thursday night from Libertyville police. The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating.
