Fliers weren’t church’s idea

The Congregational United Church of Christ celebrated its second annual United Fall Fest Sept. 8. Unfortunately, the event was marred when fest goers returned to their cars and found fliers discussing the possible use of the Glenwood School property as a residential treatment center.

I want to make it clear that the fliers were not distributed by the church, and we did not know they were being distributed. The flier refers to a Sept. 24 meeting being held at the church to discuss the issue. The church, being the largest meeting area in Campton Hills, has often been used by the Village of Campton Hills when it is necessary to accommodate a large gathering. This does not, by any means, indicate the church has taken any stand on the use of the Glenwood property.
