GFX Focuses on Wellness, Delivers Winning Results


Rookie, GFX International, Inc., comes out a champion at the 2012 WOWIE award program. GFX was recognized with the first-place gold award for its exceptional focus on employee health and wellness. The design and execution firm competed with 40 Illinois companies for the prestigious gold title.

The WOWIEs recognize employers who strive to create a work culture that promotes physical activity and healthy behaviors. Beginning in 2010 and sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and the Illinois State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, the WOWIE award program grows more competitive every year as the entry count sees steady growth.

First-timers to the award program, GFX's superior recognition in the Under 200 Employee category was well deserved. GFX Senior Manager of Talent and Recruiting Jen Simek explains, "We've built programs, dedicated resources and reinforced a purposeful culture of wellness at GFX. Our people deserve this culture. It's good for their health, their morale and their pocketbook. Wellness programs help keep healthcare costs in check."
