St. Francis beats St. Edward in two games

Filling in for the injured Maddie Haggerty, Kristen Acciavatti put down 9 kills to help No. 2 St. Francis past St. Edward 25-16, 28-26 on Wednesday in Elgin.

Haggerty missed Monday’s match with Wheaton Academy and Wednesday with a blister on the bottom of her foot. Her status for this weekend’s Asics Challenge is uncertain.

Molly Haggerty had 14 kills, Mary Boken 5 blocks and McKenna Kelsay 23 assists and 15 service points for the Spartans (21-3).

Immaculate Conception d. Montini:Delaney D#146;Amore had 5 kills and 7 digs and Kim Martino 4 kills, 5 digs and 3 assists, as the Knights cruised to a 25-18, 25-19 win in Lombard. Rory Manion added 2 kills, 4 digs and 7 aces and Liz Martino 5 assists and 4 digs for IC (16-4).Wheaton Academy d. Marian Central:Bianca Cifaldi and Sydney Vischer each had 12 kills for the host Warriors (18-6) in a 26-24, 25-14 Suburban Christian Crossover win. Cifaldi added 5 digs and 3 blocks, Vischer 2 digs and 2 blocks, Sarah McClain 30 assists and Brianna Tellschow 3 kills and 3 blocks.
