• Raymond H. Bonner, 24, of the 1700 block of Berkley Street, appeared in bond court Tuesday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, resisting an officer and obstructing identification, all misdemeanors, according to court documents. Officers responded to a domestic dispute and found Bonner in possession of a metal smoking pipe, documents said. He is charged with trying to run away from officers and then giving a false name, when stopped, documents said. Bail was set at $20,000, of which Bonner must pay 10 percent to be released before his next court date, scheduled for Oct. 4 in St. Charles.
• A basement window was shattered, walls of a residence were spray painted and several empty beer cans were found at about 4 p.m. Sept. 20 in a vacant home under construction on the 0-99 block of Joslyn Drive, according to police reports. The damage must have happened earlier that day as it was not present at 7 a.m., the report noted.
• An unknown individual tried to cash 10 forged personal checks totaling $15,550 from the account of an Elgin man between Sept. 4 and 19, according to police reports. The account had close to $5,200, which was successfully withdrawn.
