Lutheran Home right to move ahead

I am taking this opportunity to “applaud” the Lutheran Home for stepping out in faith in this time of the downturned economy and moving forward with their plans.

I am a lifetime resident and taxpayer of Arlington Heights in the neighborhood of the Lutheran Home. I am not, nor have ever been, an employee. They moved into our neighborhood before we all did and have proved themselves to be a highly respected business and employer. They are also very supportive of many events in Arlington Heights.

They are moving ahead to provide state of the art services in the rehab area and to provide even better living for the long-term nursing residents, but not adding to a resident count. We should be thankful to have this in Arlington Heights so if, and when, we, or a member of our family needs it, they will be there.

All of the requirements by the city of Arlington Heights have been met, and even more so. They are aware of parking problems and have taken steps to alleviate that and plans for water retention have been addressed, again, more than required.

Yes, there many be some inconveniences in the meantime, but what improvement does not come with that? I look forward to the day when it will be completed and ready to serve us.
