Lombard trustees lack leadership

Lombard trustees lack leadership

Lombard is left without a leader once again this week after the debacle at the Sept. 20 village board meeting. What is evident now is that strong words by the late Bill Mueller’s wife, Eileen, fell on deaf ears with three of the trustees. The actions of this board, even after several more residents asked them to do the right thing, are an insult to the legacy of President Mueller’s 19 years of dedicated leadership.

Politics has again trumped common sense with their steadfast refusal to appoint trustee Greg Gron acting president. Lombard voters need to remember this come election time in next April and ask themselves if this is the so-called leadership and direction they want for their village. The choice is clearer now than it ever has been.
