Rules on video gambling

By

A few key provision regarding video gambling in Illinois:

Ÿ The Video Gaming Act was enacted in July 2009 for bars, restaurants, fraternal organizations, veterans groups and truck stops. Ÿ Video gambling machines must be located in areas restricted to people ages 21 and older, and the areas’ entrances must be within view of at least one employee 21 and older.

Ÿ Video gambling must be at a minimum distance of 100 feet from schools and place of worships, and 1,000 feet from facilities that operate under the Illinois Horse Racing Act, and the home dock of a riverboat licensed under the Riverboat Gambling Act. The last two restrictions, however, can be waived by the Gaming Board in certain circumstances.
