Construction project to close Delany Road near Gurnee for 12 days
The Lake County Department of Transportation will close Delany Road between W. York House Road and Sunset Road near the border of Waukegan and Gurnee on Monday morning, officials announced.
The roadway, which is being shut down for the installation of culverts and removal of poor soils, is scheduled to reopen to traffic in the early evening of Friday, Oct. 5, officials said.
Construction crews will also raise the elevation of the roadway as part of the Delany Road reconstruction and widening project, officials said.
Motorists should use Sunset Avenue, Route 131 and York House Road as a detour route, officials said.
