Coroner’s office helps arrange burials

By

The Lake County coroner’s office on Tuesday announced it has cleared a backlog of eight bodies that had been stored at the coroner’s office, some for several years. The bodies had been at the office in Waukegan because no family claimed them, according to a news release. Over time, the office found relatives or programs to help with burial costs, officials said. The last burial occurred Friday, Coroner Artis Yancey said.
