Hanover Park seeks candidates for youth award

The village of Hanover Park is seeking candidates for the 2012-2013 Michael H. Coleman Youth of the Year Award. The honor, which comes with a $1,000 scholarship, is awarded to a class of 2013 high school senior who resides in Hanover Park. Four $500 scholarships and one $150 scholarship also will be awarded to runners-up. Categories from which to be considered include heroism, community service, service to school, personal achievement/special recognition and family commitment. Applicants must write a one-page essay and include a letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative. The winner will be announced at the village’s awards reception in January.
