Grateful for GOP ‘intransigence’

Grateful for GOP

‘intransigence’

This is in response to your editorial of Aug. 30. You say that the electorate is “beaten down” by “the partisan lockjaw” and “the debilitating appeasement of special interests.” For one, I am glad that there is partisan lockjaw.

Can you imagine if the Obama-Reid-Pelosi legislative agenda would have been fully implemented? Can you imagine if the Republicans worked with the Democrats and raised our taxes? (How has the state tax increase worked in Illinois?) Can you imagine how much further in debt we would be? (Hard to imagine, isn’t it?)

I owe a big thank you to Congressional representatives like Judy Biggert, Peter Roskam, Joe Walsh and Randy Hultgren that have kept this sluggish economy from becoming even more sluggish. Payroll taxes were reduced by 2 percent and federal income taxes have not risen because of the Republicans and their “intransigence”.

Mitt Romney is the right person for the job at this moment. We need someone who understands business and what makes businesses grow. We need someone who understands that economic freedom is the best way for individuals to create jobs for this country.

We need someone who does not excite us. We need someone who does not have a big ego. We do not want someone who is looking for accolades. We need someone who will lead this country and knows that it is the individual that will deserve the credit. We need someone who will create the environment necessary for this to happen. We need Mitt Romney.

This is why I am voting for Judy Biggert and Mitt Romney.
