Police say Indiana man fatally stabbed by son

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Police say a 21-year-old man fatally stabbed his father during a fight at the younger man’s home in a central Indiana city.

Greencastle police say 53-year-old Tommie Badgley of Greencastle was stabbed in the upper chest Wednesday evening and was later pronounced dead at Putnam County Hospital.

Police say Badgley and his wife had gone to their son’s home in the city about 30 miles west of Indianapolis because of a medical issue with him and that after they arrived a fight began between the two men.

The Banner-Graphic reports Thomas Badgley was arrested without incident and was being held Thursday in the Putnam County Jail pending the filing of formal charges. There wasn’t immediate record of an attorney for him.
