The driver of the small SUV type vehicle involved in the crash told paramedics he was not injured and signed a release, according to the Long Grove Fire Protection District.

Paramedics treated the motorcyclist for life-threatening injuries at the scene and arrived at Advocate Condell Medical Center at approximately 8:57 p.m., according to the fire district.

The motorcyclist was the only person on the vehicle, and the driver of the SUV was the only person in that vehicle.

Long Grove fire officials remained at the scene along with members of the Lake County sheriff department's accident investigation unit until about 10:50 p.m.

Fire officials said Old Route 53 was shut down to one lane while police investigated the crash.

Lake County sheriff's deputies could not be reached for comment Monday night.
