Kudos to Wheeling Public Works Dept.

I would like to say thank you to the crew who worked on repairing the broken water main between 2nd Street and 3rd Street on East Strong Avenue. The crew came out to assess the damage and got the water to drain off the street right away. The water had already come up our drive and my neighbor’s drive and halfway up his lawn toward his house. Gravel and fill was put in the break as soon as possible

after the break was repaired.

When they came to fix the street with blacktop, the crew was there early in the morning and stayed until the job was done. The gravel and fill had to settle before they could blacktop over it. I am sorry to say many vehicles went over this area at or over the speed limit, which left a cloud of dust over everything outside. Cars, landscaping, windows, etc. were covered with dust for about two weeks. If they would have slowed down, it wouldn’t have been so dusty.

Now everything is back to normal and we want to give thanks to the Wheeling Public Works for a job well done. It is a good feeling to know they are there when you need them.
