Company says it has money for Ind. recycling plant
HUNTINGTON, Ind. — A company says it has lined up the money it needs to build a $350 million waste-recycling plant in northeastern Indiana.
Fort Wayne-based Nature’s Fuel plans to divert waste from a Huntington County landfill and turn it into diesel fuel, synthetic motor oil and recycled building materials, with about 180 people working at the plant in Huntington.
Company CEO Bill Sinish tells The News-Sentinel that it is planning similar plants in Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky with financing from an Ohio investment group. The company says it expects to begin hiring workers for the Huntington plant in about four months.
The Journal Gazette reports the project was first disclosed in 2008. Since then, the company has had financing and permit setbacks, so construction hasn’t started.
